Frengle Puppies in Kentucky
At Brubackers Beloved Bulldogs in Liberty, Kentucky, we raise Frengle puppies. The Frengle crosses the French Bulldog with the Beagle, giving families a sturdy, sociable dog with a playful streak and a nose for adventure.
What Is a Frengle?
A Frengle is a cross between a French Bulldog and a Beagle, sometimes called a French Bulldog Beagle mix. The cross first appeared in the late 1990s and has since become popular in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Because Frengles are a crossbreed, there is no fixed breed standard, and puppies vary with their parents.
How Big Do Frengles Get?
- Height: about 8–15 inches
- Weight: about 18–30 pounds
- Life expectancy: about 10–14 years
Females are often a little smaller than males.
Coat, Colors and Grooming
Frengles have a short, thick coat, most often in black, white and brown combinations. They are easy to groom: brush weekly, wipe any facial folds, and keep up with nails, ears and teeth. Beagle-style drop ears should be checked and dried regularly.
Temperament
Frengles are friendly and sociable, enjoying the company of people and other dogs alike. From the Beagle side many inherit a strong nose and a good voice, so a fenced yard and leash walks are wise, and early training helps with barking and following scents.
Exercise and Training
Frengles are more active than a French Bulldog alone: plan on daily walks and play. They are smart but can be stubborn, so keep training short, positive and consistent. Watch the heat, as the French Bulldog side does not cool itself easily.
